Women’s Crisis Support ~ Defensa de Mujeres (WCS ~ DDM) was founded in 1977 with the mission of ending the cycle of violence for the women and children of Santa Cruz County with a special commitment to Latinas and other underserved populations. WCS ~ DDM has since become one of the primary domestic violence service providers in the County. WCS~DdM organizes and participates in numerous yearly activities that serve to promote awareness of domestic violence and sexual assault, raise funds to continue providing much needed services to the community, and connect their community with national efforts to end domestic violence and sexual assault. They have been providing domestic violence and sexual assault related services in Santa Cruz County for 30 years. Offered is a comprehensive range of crisis intervention and prevention services in both English and Spanish and include 24-hour bilingual crisis line, peer counseling, information and referrals for women teens and children, 24-hour in-person emergency response to domestic violence and sexual assault survivors, confidential emergency shelter, counseling for survivors and family workshops and much more. http://www.wcs-ddm.org/
