On August 21, 2005 Bob Moog passed away, leaving a legacy of innovation and countless contributions to the world of music. In his wake, the Bob Moog Memorial Foundation for Electronic Music has been created. The main objectives of the foundation are: three endowed scholarships, a memorial museum, event sponsorships and an outreach program for disadvantaged children. STS9 contributed $1 of each asheville ticket to the bob moog foundation, recognizing the need to not only keep Bob’s legacy alive, but to pass it down to younger generations. There are frequent moog clinics in asheville, and their modest factory is located there as well.
