Global Education Fund

globaleducationfund.org Global Education Fund (GEF) is a nonprofit organization working to see that books get into the hands of some of the most vulnerable children in the world. Founded in 1998 by anthropologist Eliza Woloson, Global Education Fund listens to the educational needs of the orphanage community first and foremost. As a result, in addition to filling libraries in orphanages with books, Global Education Fund has sent interns to communities with high illiteracy rates, implemented formalized storytelling and reading groups and physically built libraries. Global Education Fund has sent aid to many organizations around the world.
