May 8th, 2012 at 8:43 pm
what???
May 8th, 2012 at 8:43 pm
Man is there any way we can still make this happen? Regen was by far the highlight of my summer last year and was looking most forward to this of all things planned this summer.
May 8th, 2012 at 8:46 pm
I really hope it’s not anything thing bad cuz I’m pissed
May 8th, 2012 at 8:47 pm
sad. I hope everything is cool…
May 8th, 2012 at 8:53 pm
guess no tix were sold
May 8th, 2012 at 8:53 pm
What a bummer =(
May 8th, 2012 at 8:54 pm
I agree Seth!! I haven’t stopped thinking about Re:Generation 2011 yet!!
May 8th, 2012 at 8:55 pm
Hopefully everything is ok with the guys. And their families. To all the negative bitches out there, life goes on, and Tribe will still play, just a little troubling for those who were looking forward to re:gen. Support any way you can, just not negatively.
May 8th, 2012 at 9:16 pm
I spent 3 1/2Hrs today posting posters up and handing out flyers around the UO and I get home to find this … fat waste of time —

sending good vibes everyone is well and healthy- and right on Jason Z!!
May 8th, 2012 at 9:50 pm
Fuck y’all
May 8th, 2012 at 10:03 pm
Not that my plane tickets will go to waste now…but damn. This has me a little sour right now.
May 8th, 2012 at 10:56 pm
Whaaaaaat?!?!?!?!!!!!!!
This can’t be!! I’ve been trying to volunteer (and was denied) and my ticket purchase was coming soon, but were the numbers really low enough to pull the plug at this point in the game??
I’m with Seth; is there anything we can do to get Re:Gen back on the calendar??? I’ll work there & throw some extra bones towards the fest if we can still make this happen!!
May 8th, 2012 at 11:10 pm
If the lineup had been better, there would have been far more ticket sales. Such a shame.
May 8th, 2012 at 11:19 pm
Re:Generation was going to be the pinnacle of my summer as it was last year I hope that everything is ok with you guys and hope that lack of ticket sales is what is causing this cancellation…..I know many portlandears that would have been buying their tickets last minute (in a week or so) and many other people that were still on the fence. I know that my crew (15-20) and other crews that were there that were around that size that informed a ton of people about the festival and were very much looking forward to this years throw down……Hopefully you guys will see how many people support and were looking forward to this festival and that will hopefully help the powers at be find a way to make this still a possibility
May 8th, 2012 at 11:21 pm
Re:Generation was going to be the pinnacle of my summer as it was last year I hope that everything is ok with you guys and hope that lack of ticket sales isn’t******* what is causing this cancellation…..(fixed typo)
May 8th, 2012 at 11:32 pm
I was about to buy 12 Tix!!! I hope y’all know, tribe kids are procrastinators!!! For real!!! I cancelled all my summer plans for this because both regens have been the best weekends of my life! How many fix do I have to Buy to get this up and running again?!?!?!
May 9th, 2012 at 12:24 am
Im sorry to say it was really management’s fault. The lineup was hella thin. I was about to buy mine tonight also. I really hope there’s nothing wrong with the guys though, or else Im gonna feel like an ass forsure. If it helps I know about 25 people who were all planning to go, no one had gotten their tickets yet!
May 9th, 2012 at 5:18 am
My overwhelming disappointment with this decision can not be measured. The rumor is that it was due to poor ticket sales, but what was the incentive for anyone to buy tickets early? You had an early bird sale, where many, many fans were online at the on-sale and got shut out – and after the ticket prices increased to full price. So many of us didn’t feel any rush to buy tickets because it was the same price one minute after the on-sale until the event. With that being said, and I know it goes against everything you promote, but also some communication to fans would have been nice that this was even a possibility – I guarantee that many of us who were holding off not feeling any sense of urgency to buy tickets, would have made the purchase immediately.
May 9th, 2012 at 5:23 am
Sad news.
May 9th, 2012 at 6:00 am
Damn, this really sucks. Hope all you guys and your families are alright. Wishing you the best, hope to see ya soon.
May 9th, 2012 at 7:36 am
While bummed, I hope it has nothing to do w/ the health of Murph and the rest of the crew. We already bought our flights to Portland so for the Oregonians out there, what do you recommend? Camping, hiking, stuff to do?
May 9th, 2012 at 8:47 am
As everyone else said, a thin lineup and a procrastinating fanbase can be directly attributed to this. Oh well, I’m pretty sure SCI will be happy to accommodate me in July. Maybe you guys can jump on that lineup eh? eh? EHHHHHHHHHHH? Just a thought
May 9th, 2012 at 8:49 am
Weak lineup + 4 Peaks (another festival in Oregon) + Sonic Bloom (another electronic festival) being the same weekend as Re:Gen = poor ticket sales and hence cancelation.
And this is coming from someone who pre-bought full price tix and an RV pass.
May 9th, 2012 at 9:03 am
hope everything is well with all the artist, keep things good guys cant wait for you guys at Red rocks and Electric forest this year! keep it real!
love from nashville
May 9th, 2012 at 9:33 am
I know about 15 people that were about to buy tix… Been telling tons of people too that all planned to go… Wtf. Last year I woke up super early to buy your early bird tickets and some glitch kept me from getting them so this year I said fuck it I’ll wait, if it’s gonna be another early bird letdown as I am sure many others were.
May 9th, 2012 at 9:33 am
This is a super bummer! Does anyone have an explanation? I hope it is not anyone’s health problems – I truly do…it doesn’t appear to have affected other STS9 events this summer, so one would assume lack of ticket sales? Is there anything we can do as a fan base to get this back up and running? None of the people I know who were planning to go had bought their tickets yet either, and I have to reiterate what was mentioned above, namely that after the mini presale (which I was also shut out of), anyone I know who did not manage to get those tickets saw no incentive to buy in a hurry…but the plans were made, it’s my buddy 30th birthday and after last year we all were so thrilled that people had as much fun as we did and wanted to do this again! I hope everything is alright in the community and let us know what we can do to help!
May 9th, 2012 at 9:34 am
bummer
May 9th, 2012 at 10:57 am
Not so great Spectacles – Axe the Re:Gen cables, literally. What can I say, I’m super pissed right now and need to vent, who cancels festivals? WEAK!
The true key is a trust in self, For when I trust myself, I fear no one else, I took control of my life, just as anyone can, I want everyone to see it’s in the palm of your hand, The past is gone, the future yet unborn, But right here and now is where it all goes on.” RIP MCA.
May 9th, 2012 at 12:31 pm
Awww mane… that really sucks… and only 1 day in colorado… its ok its ok… cuz you guys are still the best band im the world.. so im sure we all forgive you for this… next year! right?
May 9th, 2012 at 12:57 pm
Well you guys have done it this time! No more will I travel to see you guys. I had already bought a plane ticket from Columbia, SC to Portand, literally across the country. Not to mention the “early-bird tickets sold out in 3 mins. Its all about the $$$$ with you guys now. Well lucky for me a REAL festival is going on the same weekend, Sonic Bloom. So luckily I am able to salvage the time off from work and the plane ticket even though it cost me an extra $152 to change flights, but don’t worry im not expecting you guys to pick up my tab, but you can forget about me as a 10 year follower traveling great distances to support you guys and continually dissapointed. Enjoy your luxury Mexican shows to beachs and Califonia Winerys. STS9 is done.
May 9th, 2012 at 1:32 pm
only love and money
May 9th, 2012 at 1:38 pm
Super bummed, was going to be my first music festival on my birthday week. Bought tickets the day they came out and was going to go with a wonderful person. Sad sad day:(
May 9th, 2012 at 1:58 pm
L I F E is a 4 letter word for a reason. Just hope Tribe has not become a “Franklin” chasing band. The fans are waiting for a response and please bring it “real” and not politically correct
May 9th, 2012 at 2:21 pm
At least give us a chance to get our tickets! Even if you would have lost money at this event (which I highly doubt ticket sales would be that bad in the end – I bought my ticket the day of last year), show for your west coast fans!
May 9th, 2012 at 3:00 pm
Still can’t even believe it. I had tickets and know at least 12 other people that were about to buy tickets. I can’t believe it
Super super bummed
May 9th, 2012 at 6:17 pm
not a day in the last year I haven’t missed Regeneration from 2011…. SO SAD to not be there again
May 9th, 2012 at 7:34 pm
Riley:
Check out Cannon Beach, it is way funky and cool. Also the Pearl district in Portland is pretty great. Portland is a fun city to bum around. As for camping, hopefully you can get that info from some locals because I am lacking in suggestions.
Hope everything works out and enjoy your time out West.
May 9th, 2012 at 7:35 pm
Good thoughts to the band and fam; hope everything is okay.
May 9th, 2012 at 9:38 pm
tribe is my fevorite band shit happens thats life. Ive been rockin a peaceplaster hat since NYE 2008 just to show love. Artists give everything thay have 10 times over to make the music that enhances our lives so much. I dont know how long any of you haters have been on this earth but sometimes things dont go as planed. I just hope everyone in the band is ok.
May 9th, 2012 at 10:21 pm
you guys fucked up you guys cant say more thats it
May 9th, 2012 at 10:24 pm
hey guys, these guys are touring troopers, they give it their all whenever they perform. they love to perform, let’s just give them the benefit of the doubt. Those of you who are pissed, should just be disappointed until further notice. They’ll be back!! But yes, it does suck!
May 10th, 2012 at 4:50 am
I can’t believe I’m seeing some of these comments…yes shit does happen but it’s no reason to throw fits n talk shit on the guys on here. If only some of u downers knew the guys u would know they are NOT just about the money, they love what they do and will continue to do it for them and for us. And yal know that they are just as upset as everyone else, if not more upset. Tribe will roll on n will redeem the weekend, let’s all just pray that everythings ok with the guys n their family’s. It could be worse. See y’all at red rocks! Roll tribe roll!!!!
Shan
May 10th, 2012 at 8:48 am
Can’t believe it. Was looking forward to this festival like cuh-razy. Extremely dissapointed and wondering what really caused this. Hope Murph is okay but safe to say my day is ruined.
May 13th, 2012 at 3:31 pm
Everyone should take note of what Shan said. All the hate is so unwarranted. If you knew these guys at all you would know that they are more upset than any of us could ever dream of. I do, however, hope that the boys can make up for this somewhere down the road because there are a lot of people out hundreds and hundreds if not thousands of dollars with no chance of getting that money back. We have all spent loads of cash following these guys around and it is only fair for them to make this right. So much Love and Light to everyone, especially you guys: Hunter, Phipps, Jefree, Zach and Murph and everyone in the Sector 9 family. Hope all is well and that I see your smiling faces in the near future. In Lak’ech Ala K’in
May 13th, 2012 at 5:07 pm
A lot of these comments are completely over the top and insulting. We do not know what is going on. With that said, I also have to say it’s insulting to just cancel a festival and give no reason. A lot of people were waiting to buy tickets, because guess what, its a recession and people are hard up for cash. But if that’s the reason, say so. What is being said on this page is disrespectful of STS9′s art, but cancelling an entire festival without giving any reason is more insulting, considering so many people already bought plane tickets, got time off work, etc, etc. I’m struck by a serious lack of respect both on the part of the fans of this band, as well as on the part of STS9 themselves. Hope everyone is healthy, Re:Generation (the film) was amazing, the 2 Re:Generation festivals were equally amazingg, but have to admit I too am a little frustrated and insulted by the “sorry guys, youre shit out of luck, but were not even going to give you a tiny explanation” nature of this announcement.” I also arranged my whole summer around this and am now scrambling to find a replacement for this.
May 14th, 2012 at 10:29 am
no tour no shows nothing before i was pissed but now i am leading towards there might be something wrong fall tour please!!!!!
May 14th, 2012 at 8:34 pm
This is obvi not the fault of Sts9…life at times can be out of our control and as a community and family we must trust and support each other, even when we are disappointed and sad that we can’t dance and celebrate in the way we wanted to. I love you tigers and always know you have our best interest in mind. I ask everyone to be supportive and to know that the boys always have the community in mind and do what’s best for us all. Love and light. Be the sprank.
May 15th, 2012 at 10:10 am
Change it to Deerfields and you’ll sell out in a sec….
May 15th, 2012 at 12:16 pm
what about airfare? There is no reason for me to be in Portland any longer.
May 18th, 2012 at 8:18 am
how about you guys stay true to the ideals you promote in the regeneration documentary and not make this thing about money, and give us fans 3 nights to sow some love in to the world.
May 20th, 2012 at 4:44 pm
How about a real explanation as to why you ruined my summer…
May 21st, 2012 at 2:58 pm

AW SHOOT!
May 25th, 2012 at 3:46 pm
want to add I had not yet bought my ticket but was planning to so I hope it wasn’t for lack of sales. I was, however, on the fence cause it’s a big commitment to either camp in the woods (not a huge fan of that myself) or stay in Portland and drive out there everyday, which I know some people did last year. Personally, would rather have a 2-3 night run in my town with some after party action. Been seeing you guys for 12 years now and haven’t had my fix for a while now
Big regrets on not making Oakland now…
May 28th, 2012 at 4:03 pm
Chill peoples, Tribe loves their fans. In actuality bands control very few of the elements that go into creating a festival. Festivals (particularly electronic festivals) are a booming business in the US right now and it is a way more crowded and competitive market right now than it was say 10 years ago. If the various promoters felt like this festival was going to be a bust then they pulled the plug so that their resources could be put to better use, a bummer for sure, but far from apocalyptic.
Additionally, to the fans who are opposed to the location of the Mayan Holidaze shows etc. Those are meant to be some really special nights, for the band and their fans. I’m sure that Tribe wants their family to be there, and with young children they want them to have some basic securities and amenities that can’t necessarily be guaranteed at a campsite in Mexico. So yeah, the show is more expensive and I for one won’t be able to make it, but do I begrudge them choosing their own venue for their celebration? Absolutely not.
STS9; the band the fans the family, thank you for an amazing and life changing 9 years. Hopefully all is well with you and we’ll cultivate some beautiful energies together at Electric Forest.
May 31st, 2012 at 6:57 am
Never before has one of my favorite bands let me down this much. I haven’t listened to STS9 since the cancellation announcement, and I may not for awhile.
